ANDERSON, IN - Although the May 25 USAC Midwest Ford Focus Midget Series event was Lindsey Trausch?s first time around the 1/4-mile, high-banked Anderson Speedway in a midget, the Carolina Series rookie of the year contender proved she has want it takes to be fast by qualifying her Haus Motorsports Stealth in the second position in the 27 car field with an impressive 12.683 lap.

By qualifying second, Trausch would start the second of four heat races in the sixth and final position and would race to a fourth place finish earning her the inside spot of row two for the nights 30 lap feature.

?I can?t thank Eddie Griffith enough for his help in setting up our car for this track,? commented a Trausch, driver of the LunaseaMedia Production backed machine. ?With his help, we were fast right off the trailer. We switched gears right before qualifying which definitely helped get us out of the corners quicker.?

At the start of the feature, Trausch got a slow start and fell to the fifth position but would inch her way up to the second thru fourth place cars where she would begin battling for the fourth position with the 97 car of Derek Fisher. Heading into turn three on lap 18, the second and third place cars spun leaving both Trausch and Fisher no where to go but into each other. The incident would end Trausch?s day with a broken front axle and in the 18th position.

?It?s very disappointing to get caught up in someone else?s accident,? explained Trausch. ?We definitely had a top three car today and could have even battled for the win but I guess that?s how it goes sometimes.

?Overall, I?m very pleased with how the car ran,? continued Trausch. ?To come into the Midwest Series and qualify second is pretty impressive for a rookie team. We proved that the car is strong and as a driver it really boosts my confindance heading into South Boston.?

Currently sitting in the 11th position in the Carolina Ford Focus Midget standings, Trausch will head to South Boston Speedway in South Boston, Va. Saturday, June 4 for the series? fifth race of the season.
