STANLEY, N.C. - Heading into the rescheduled Carolina Ford Focus Midget Series event at the four-tenths mile, clay East Lincoln Speedway, Lindsey Trausch had high expectation of continuing her forward run in the Series points standings only to let that slip away on the opening lap of the evenings first heat race.

Continuing to gain dirt track experience through the evenings first two practice sessions, Trausch would start on the outside pole of the evenings first ten-lap heat race along side series points leader Chase Scott along with South Boston champion Robbie Ray and series regular Terry Hall. Take the green flag, Trausch would hold her line through turns one and two and chose the outside line going into turn three while Ray would choose the inside line. Halfway through the turn, Trausch would make contact with Ray?s right-rear tire sending her headfirst into the turn three wall thus ending her day with a very badly hurt race car.

?What a disappointing way to end the day,? explained Trausch, driver of the Haus Motorsports, LunaseaMedia Productions-back Stealth. ?We had a very good race car tonight and I was learning a lot about driving on dirt. It?s one of those situations where I think neither Robbie nor myself should take the blame for, stuff like this happens on dirt.

?The car is tore up pretty bad and is probably going to need a new front clip if and when it hits the track again,? continued Trausch who was making only her third attempt on dirt. ?We will definitely have a lot of work to do if we plan on being in Hickory on Thursday.?

The Carolina Ford Focus Midget Series will make a rare appearance this Thursday, June 16 at the.363-mile, semi-banked Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, N.C. with the USCS Outlaw Thunder Sprint Tour.
