ELKIN, N.C. - Following a two week break in Carolina Ford Focus Midget Series action, Lindsey Trausch was anxious to get back behind the wheel of her LunaseaMedia Productions-backed Stealth at Friendship Motor Speedway located in Elkin, N.C. but Mother Nature stepped in forcing a one-day rain delay for the event originally scheduled for Sunday, July 3.

Trausch, making her inaugural showing at the 4/10-mile, semi-banked asphalt oval, struggled in both practice sessions but was confident that adjustments made would be beneficial come race time.

?Today was a tough day for us,? commented Trausch, driver of the Haus Motorsports-prepared machine. ?Since our test session also got rained out we only had ten laps on the track before we unloaded so we basically started from ground zero on what set-up we needed. But as the day progressed we made adjustments and the car kept getting better.?

Qualifying in the thirteenth and final position for the 30-lap feature, the Haus Motorsports team made several adjustments prior to the main event when the first round of showers came through, stopping action for more than three hours. Following the delay, track officials elected to run the Focus cars last in the evenings line-up but the rains came once again, causing the event to be moved to the following day, ending Trausch?s race weekend since she had to work during the July 4 holiday.

?It was disappointing seeing the first rain showers come through but I was still confident that we could get it in after they got the track dried and started racing again,? Trausch explained. ?I knew there was no way I could race on the Fourth because of work so I was ready to stay up late to race if that was what it took but unfortunately that wasn?t the case.

?We made a lot of adjustments before the rain that I think would have helped the car get around the track but I guess we?ll have to wait until next weekend at Kentucky,? continued Trausch. ?Brian Moates is going to drive the car tomorrow for us so we can get owners points which will hopefully help us stay in condition for the National Championships in September.?

Trausch will travel to the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Ky. next Saturday, July 9 as the Carolina Ford Focus Midget Series will race with the Midwest Series on the 1/4-mile, slightly-banked infield oval prior to the Built Ford Tough 225 event for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event.
