HICKORY, N.C.—Following a strong test on Friday, Lindsey Trausch had high expectations heading into Saturday's Carolina Ford Focus Series event at the .363, semi-banked Hickory Motor Speedway. Unfortunately, Trausch would get caught behind slower traffic and eventually get caught in a race ending accident on lap 21 of the 35 lap feature.
"We were strong in testing so I had very high expectations coming into today's race," commented Trausch, driver of the LunaseaMedia Productions/Haus Motorsports Hawk. "I really screwed up my qualifying lap which lined me up ninth in the feature but during the race I got into a rhythm, and was starting to make up ground when we got tangled up with a slower car.
"It's too bad because I know we had a strong car, I just put us in a bad situation when I messed up qualifying," continued Trausch. "Unfortunately the car is too badly hurt to make it to Concord this weekend but we will be back at Hickory on June 10 which I'm really looking forward to. We'll go testing there again and keep practicing qualifying runs and be ready for a strong start and finish."
